ANU's Medicine program is built on frameworks that explore the social foundations of medicine, develop understanding of Indigenous health contexts in Australia, and provide insights and experience in healthcare in rural and/or remote Australian settings.

From their program, it's evident that ANU places great emphasis on medical ethics, rural health, and Indigenous health. When preparing for the ANU Med Interview, along with other essential traits, focus on demonstrating a strong understanding of medical ethics. Additionally, showcasing an interest and understanding of rural and Indigenous health will be key characteristics they seek in their candidates.

The interview process at ANU employs both MMI (Multiple Mini Interviews) and Panel formats. This dual approach allows for a diverse evaluation of applicants' skills, from practical tasks to ethical reasoning and personal experiences.

ANU has one of the smallest cohorts among Australian Med Schools, with around 100+ students admitted annually. Domestic applicants must attend the ANU Medical interview at the ANU, Acton campus, while international applicants will participate online.
