The International Student Admissions Test (ISAT) is a computer-based test that scores for critical reasoning and quantitative reasoning. It is designed to assess a student’s abilities and intellectual skills, such as logical thinking and problem-solving skills that are essential for university-level study.
The test is often used as an entry requirement to certain medical or dentistry programs in countries like Australia, Ireland and Malaysia.
Registration is available online through ACER. You’ll need a valid email address as it will be used for all communication, including information on how to access your ISAT results.
1. Read the pre-registration requirements and information and create an ACER account.
2. Register for ISAT via your ACER account.
3. Register for a ProctorU account.
4. Receive your invitation from the ISAT Office to book with ProctorU.
5. Book your test session with ProctorU.
6. Get your preparation materials.
7. Read and understand the test day requirements.
The ISAT is a three-hour online multiple-choice exam available at testing centers worldwide. It is offered in specific test cycles, which vary depending on the university and program you are applying to. You can check the ISAT website for key dates and deadlines for each cycle.
The test comprises 100 questions divided into two sections: Critical Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning. Each section contains 50 questions, which are interwoven throughout the exam. Every question has only one correct answer among four to five answer options, and there are no penalties for incorrect responses. Breaking down the Sections:
- The Critical Reasoning section assesses your ability to comprehend and analyse information, apply concepts, draw logical conclusions, and evaluate arguments.
- The Quantitative Reasoning section measures your numerical and mathematical problem-solving skills, data interpretation abilities, and logical reasoning.

Fraser’s ISAT has a proven 100% success rate for getting our students into their preferred programs via the ISAT - with all of our 2023 and 2024 cohort getting into their first preference medical schools!
Where do we differ compared to other ISAT courses and programs on the market?
Unlike generic test-prep programs which focus on learning in your own time, we recognise the unique challenges international students face. Through 1-on-1 tutoring with personal mentors & curated Mock Exams, our course is specifically designed to tackle obstacles that many international students may face such as:
- ESL/EAL - Speaking and writing English as a second language may impact their ISAT performance
- Limited Knowledge of Medical Entries - Unfamiliarity with Australian medical/dentistry entry pathways
- Cultural Differences in Education – Adjusting to different teaching styles, assessment methods, and expectations in Australian institutions
- Standardised Test Differences – Difficulty adapting to exams like the ISAT, which may differ from entrance exams in their home country
What do past students have to say about our ISAT course?

'It was an amazing opportunity to prepare for my ISAT with Frasers, and despite ISAT being an unfamiliar exam to many of the local institutions in Australia due to the nature of the exam, Fraser's did their best to find suitable resources and tutors to fit to my needs!
Thanks to the hard work given by the tutors, I was able to achieve a satisfying result in the exam, and have gotten an interview offer to one of the universities offering medicine.
Though I only had few days to prepare for my interview, Frasers offered a comprehensive interview preparation sessions that led me to a final full offer from the university!
A huge thanks to all the tutors and Dr. Fraser for arranging all the programmes provided, and I would definitely suggest the platform to any aspiring medical practitioners needing a guidance to the preparation process.'
